if you've been paying attention lately, you're probably sick of me mentioning Stampede. i promise, after this, you won't hear about again. however, i can't promise that i won't torture you with more pictures of me in my cowboy boots. and, you might have to see pictures of us at our local rodeos. i can't wait to take LO to his first rodeo (he stayed home with his grandma, so me and Mr. Fit could have a romantic getaway). i'm hooked! who knew i was a country bumpkin at heart?
since there are lots of pictures, i'll keep the words to a minimum.
we started are Stampede trip off with good country music. as soon as we stepped off the plane we stepped onto a party bus, and we were swept off to the Garth Brooks concert. one of Mr. Fit's buddies hooked us up with box seats. i couldn't believe how many people were there!
we had an amazing time and didn't get home until 3 in the morning.

the next day we got up and had some of the best Vietnamese food I've ever had! i'd show you pictures of my entree, but i got too excited and swallowed it before i could take any pictures.
then, we mad a trip to a "Real Canadian Superstore".

Annie, such a sweetheart of a host, made us some rhubarb cake! she and Bruce were sweet to take us in, feed us, and show us an amazing time.

the next day, we went back to Stampede.
this is Buddy Bensmiller! he's a famous chuck wagon driver.
me and one of the horses about to race. believe it or not, i've never been on a horse.

we were so busy, that i forgot to take pictures of the area we stayed in. it was a tiny town called Carstairs, and this is what it looked like. the canola fields were everywhere...beautiful!
our last night was spent in downtown Calgary! it was pouring so we hung out at the hotel and had dinner at the restaurant downstairs. that was a real treat...chef/owner Connie DeSousa was a Top Chef Canada finalist!
Char Cut Roast House
first, i picked out an outfit...with boots of course!

this is what i went with.

dinner started with charcuterie...yum!

my salted caramel drink was delish.

the bone marrow with escargot was mouthwatering.

Mr. Fit loved his fancy beer! he asked me to take a picture...so cute.

the biggest ribs i've ever had. and, i don't think they gave us enough fries. at least one order was poutine (gravy and cheese curds) with truffle oil!

we were so cool, that an employee of the restaurant invited us to an exclusive anti-stampede party...and we had a boots on!
I love that yellow dress! My mom use to have those white plates with the blue design. You make me want to buy cowboy boots! Great to hear you had fun.
