my thanksgiving dinner contribution: cinnamon apple cranberry sauce

i love cranberry sauce. the tart, sweet flavor...mmm!

this year, i made my aunt d's recipe.

2 cups of cranberry juice
6 oz sweetened dried cranberries
1 cinnamon stick
1 cup sugar
2 gala apples, peeled and diced
2 tsp cornstarch

in a medium saucepan, bring cranberry juice, cranberries, cinnamon stick, and sugar to a boil. reduce to medium heat and stir for 5 minutes. add the diced apples and cook an additional 5 minutes.

remove 1 cup of liquid and mix in the cornstarch.  add cornstarch mixture to saucepan and stir another 5 minutes.

remove from heat and allow to chill in the fridge for 2-3 hours or until jellied.
