homemade apple sauce

apple sauce is so yummy! i can always count on LO to eat it...especially when he's moody about food and won't eat anything. when he's had tummy troubles, i mix it with a couple tablespoons of rice cereal.

it's so yummy, i have to hide it from LT. this recipe has such a warm, sweet taste. it's great warm or cold.

give it a try. i know you'll love it!

if your kiddo is chewing, dice or wedge the apples and skip the pureeing.

ingredients:
8 organic honey crisp or gala apples (peeled and chopped)
2 tbsp olive oil
1tsp cinnamon

peel and chop apples. heat olive oil in large sauce pan or pot over medium-high heat. add the apples and stir to cover the apples in olive oil. saute apples until well caramelized. this gives it a buttery taste. turn heat down to low and add tsp of cinnamon. cover and allow to simmer for 15 minutes or until it reaches desired tenderness.

add apples to food processor or blender and puree.

voila...apple sauce!
